Denver Advances to Western Conference Finals
The Denver Nuggets pulled off a stunning 20-point comeback on Monday night, defeating the Los Angeles Lakers 115-105 to clinch a berth in the Western Conference Finals.
The Nuggets trailed by as many as 20 points in the third quarter but rallied behind a heroic performance from Nikola Jokic. The reigning MVP scored 38 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, and dished out 9 assists to lead Denver's charge.
The Lakers were led by Anthony Davis, who finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds. However, Davis was unable to match Jokic's dominance down the stretch as Denver closed out the game on a 16-4 run.
The Nuggets will now face the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Finals, which begin on Tuesday, May 23.
