Another Loss Another Record

White Sox Reach New Low Point in Historic Season

Another Loss, Another Record

The Chicago White Sox have made history - but not the kind they wanted. After falling 5-3 to the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday, the Sox dropped to 30-97, 67 games under .500 for the first time in franchise history.

Martin's Effort Wasted

Despite a strong performance by starting pitcher Davis Martin, the Sox offense struggled once again, managing just three hits. In the third inning, right fielder Luis Robert attempted to score from first on Lenyn Sosa's double but was thrown out at home plate.

Continued Offensive Struggles

The Sox went 3-for-13 with runners in scoring position, continuing their season-long offensive struggles. At 30-96, they are now 66 games under .500, another franchise first.

Franchise-Record Losing Streak

The loss extended the Sox's losing streak to 17 games, tying the longest skid in franchise history. They are now 57 games under .500 at 27-84.

Bottom of the League

The Sox currently sit in last place in the American League Central, 39.5 games behind the division-leading Minnesota Twins. Their -183 run differential is the worst in the league.

Hopes of the Future

Despite the dismal season, the Sox have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks, with Martin's performance on Tuesday being a prime example. With a young core of players, the Sox hope to build on these positive signs in the future.
